the Mecum Houston 2012
Inaugural Vehicle Auction of Muscle Cars and More!
Mecum Houston 2012 Auction Driver Participation Experience TachRev Notes Regarding the vehicles “Volunteer Driver“ driven by TachRev.com, et al, during the two day inaugural Houston 2012 Mecum Auction:
During the two day event, over 600 vehicles were reported registered and crossed the auction block. Mecum stated the 2012 Houston Auction grossed $18 million in sales. The majority of the “unsung” behind the scenes Auction personnel were local Houston volunteers and many Houston area car club member volunteers (such as HACC – Houston Area Chevrolet Club).
The TachRev.com webmaster volunteered 14+ hours each of the two days, driving more than 25 auction vehicles.
Many of those vehicles were on the flyer marketing for the auction, and others were listed on the Mecum website. Some of all of those vehicles were televised on the Velocity Channel. Although the majority of vehicles were - unseen on television - part of the live auction activity and Auction Lots.
The TachRev.com webmaster drove the very first Vehicle – Lot F1 – across the block (to kickoff the 2-day event) of the Mecum Houston 2012 auction:
