The 2-day Houston Mecum 2012 Auction cell phone camera photos shown here were taken before the activity began each day; prior to the broadcasts and auctioning; of the vehicles by the TachRev.com webmaster. Note: Although the image quality is poor, they are included here for those interested in the behind-the-scenes activities of a Mecum Auction event; and for those who would like to volunteer at upcoming events. Enjoy.

Above: Getting signed in and starting the initial drivers meeting at 7:30am. Local Houston volunteers and many Houston area car club member volunteers such as the host club: HACC – Houston Area Chevrolet Club; Thunderbird and Mopar club members were in attendance. The calm before the auction ...begins to fade. All were a great group of people and fun to work with. Note all of the smiling faces! Above: Tom is one of the Mecum representatives who really kept things going behind the scenes. He was one of several "got-to" people at the Mecum auction. Tom usually had a big smile on his face, and had a great "can-do" attitude during the two day event. You will see him - on the televised broadcast - piloting a few of the motorcycles through the auction block. Above: This may look like everyone is upset. They are not. Just covering some of the serious details regarding the auction procedures. Even the serious items were handled in a light mannered, positive, professional way. You can see the volunteer smiles here too. Above: Alright now that we've covered the do's and don'ts: let's get down to the fun - driving Muscle Cars & More! Certainly most viewing this have noticed many of these blue shirted Mecum people on a Velocity Channel broadcast or two. Mrs. Duckworth was smiles for both days. She was one of the Mecum personnel - on & off camera - who signals drivers where to start and stop. She stages the vehicles thru the various auction block sequence sections. Her husband is also on the auction block doing the same. Above: This is a view of the bidders seating and the empty auction block before the activity begins.Above: Waiting to get the call for the auction to begin, I decided to take some pictures of vehicles to be auctioned. To start with - here is one of 'THE' iconic 1960's Muscle Cars: The 1969 Pontiac GTO Ram Air 'Judge' in Carousel Red w the Hideaway headlight option.
